Why I grade my own record against the closing line
BY DANE CARTER
Every tout on the internet posts a record. Records are easy: bet enough favorites, grade generously, delete the bad months. What none of that survives is one question — did you beat the number the market closed at?
The closing line is the sharpest price in the world, because it’s the last price the smartest money was willing to take. Beat it consistently and profit follows; lose to it consistently and a hot record is luck on a countdown.
What that means here
Every play on this site is graded against the close, win or lose, and the record wall on the front page is pulled live from the grading system — not typed in by me. That’s the whole pitch: read the film, check the close, and hold me to it.
